DRI International Reaches 14,000 Worldwide Certified Professionals

DRI International, the global business continuity certification and education organization, is pleased to announce its latest milestone – it has now certified more than 14,000 business continuity and resilience professionals around the world.

"The ever-growing number of certified professionals reflects the increasing importance organizations are placing on business continuity and disaster recovery as a priority," said DRI CEO and President Al Berman. "Every day in the news, we're seeing the impact a disaster can have on a company and its workforce, whether it's a natural disaster or a threat to cybersecurity. Having knowledgeable, trained resilience professionals on staff is crucial for any organization to be able to respond properly and remain active in a crisis."

Particularly notable are the rises in both advanced and specialty certifications. Since 2015, the number of Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP) certifications has risen by 17%. Specialty credentials for Certified Healthcare Provider Continuity Professionals (CHPCPs) increased by nearly 13%, while Certified Risk Management Professionals (CRMPs) increased by 25%.

DRI credentials both new and experienced resilience professionals via certifications designed for a number of fields, including business continuity planning, business continuity auditing, risk management, the public sector, and healthcare. Certification courses are made available in classrooms, online, and on location at companies and organizations around the world.

Beyond certifying individuals, DRI International now offers accreditation for organizations with the Hub of Resilience and Resilient Enterprise designations, as well as assessment of organizational resilience with the Resilient Enterprise Assessment Process. Established to recognize organizations that have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to preparedness and resiliency, these are DRI"s official "standard of excellence" organizations. NYU Langone Medical Center was the first organization to receive this recognition, presented at DRI2016 in Atlanta, GA, on March 8.

Recently, DRI's CBCP certification was ranked as the top certification recommended for IT professionals in Tom’s IT Pro's "Top 5 Business Continuity Certifications for 2016" list. Business Management Daily also spotlighted DRI as one of its "3 Resources to Help in a Crisis," in part because of the respected status of its certifications.

Professionals looking for ways to continue their career education can also look for DRI's conference events, including its annual international conference (DRI2017 will be held in Las Vegas Feb. 26-Mar.1, 2017), its regional one-day events such as the one that took place in Houston in the wake of severe flooding, as well as upcoming events in Queens, NY, and St. Louis, MO, scheduled for the fall. Planned international events include DRI KL2016, hosted by DRI Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur on Aug. 23-24.
