The disruptions making headlines today—ransomware attacks, supply chain breakdowns, and cascading third-party failures—are exposing the limits of traditional scenario testing. But with every challenge comes an opportunity: to reimagine how resilience programs are built, tested, and improved. In this webinar, Fusion’s David Halford and Mandy Leavell, explore how innovations in AI and data science are transforming scenario testing into a more powerful tool for resilience. They examine the full testing lifecycle—scenario design, tabletop exercises, gap analysis, and reporting—and highlight where programs often fall short. You’ll see how organizations can leverage AI to automate complex tasks, expand testing scope, uncover hidden vulnerabilities, and turn reporting into data-driven insights executives understand and value. Whether you’re evolving tabletop exercises, strengthening preparedness, or reframing resilience as a measurable business advantage, this session will equip you with practical strategies to test smarter, prepare faster, and prove the value of your program in moments that matter most. Key takeaways: - Why traditional scenario testing struggles to keep up with today’s disruptions - How AI and data science expand scenario design, testing, and reporting capabilities - Practical steps to reduce bias, overcome resource constraints, and close gaps faster - How to shift from reactive exercises to proactive, data-driven resilience strategies - Ways Fusion helps organizations transform scenario testing into a strategic advantage NOTE: This is a sponsored webinar with content produced by Fusion Risk Management. Many organizations assume they are resilient — but without a well-structured, rigorous testing program, how can you be sure? A truly resilient organization doesn’t just test once a year and hope for the best. Instead, it implements a comprehensive, continuous testing strategy to uncover gaps, validate preparedness, and build confidence in its ability to withstand disruptions. Jamie Goodloe, Lead Business Continuity Consultant at Riskonnect, breaks down the essential elements of an effective testing program — one that moves beyond a check-the-box approach and provides real, actionable insights. You’ll learn how to: - Break down testing silos across IT and the business - Design and implement a holistic testing strategy - Define and identify critical roles to support your testing program - Accomplish end-to-end testing in a hybrid environment - Translate testing results into resilient posture metrics NOTE: This is a sponsored webinar with content produced by Riskonnect. Be prepared for anything. With the increasingly complex threats facing organizations today, along with added pressure from evolving regulations, your organization must be able to thrive through any kind of disruption. That’s why scenario testing should be a pillar in every organization’s resilience program. Going beyond simply testing for success, a good program tests for vulnerabilities so teams can identify gaps, make improvements, and proactively mitigate relevant risks. In this webinar, Fusion Risk Management’s Lead Data Scientist Davis DeRodes and Sr. Product Marketing Manager Mandy Leavell will illustrate how a strategic, data-driven scenario testing program can assess your organization’s ability to deliver critical business services during a crisis, as well as boost confidence in your strategic decision-making. Enabling your organization’s resilience capabilities can be a daunting task. Risk domains traditionally sit in siloed functions and resiliency plans struggle to gain footing across an enterprise. An organization’s disjointed areas of resilience may hinder efforts to empower employees to make sound resilience-based decisions. In this session, we will explore how properly leveraging technology promotes greater stakeholder engagement and increases connectivity across an organization. We will focus on the following elements crucial to the adoption of technology following its implementation: - Engage stakeholders through change management: Handing out access to a technology does not mean stakeholders will use it. Emphasize user experience to ensure scalability of your resilience capabilities. Training and supporting users on how to use the technology will help propel your program forward. - Always be automating: Look for opportunities to automate to improve data quality. This shift allows users to concentrate more on analyzing data rather than collecting it, which leads to saving time and resources and improving reporting. - Don’t set it and forget it: Continuously review your evolving business objectives and needs to confirm your technology remains suitable and effective. Many organizations implement technologies hoping to bolster the success and reach of their resilience program, but they forget new technology alone won’t enhance a program. Start by assessing current technology use, next identify automation opportunities, then plan for regular technology effectiveness reviews to ensure resilience capabilities are continuously optimized. From a safe social distance, I’ve been fielding frantic calls from organizations that don’t have a business continuity plan to help them respond to the spread of the COVID-19 global pandemic. I’ve also gotten calls from those who do, but there is nothing in it for a pandemic scenario, which manifests itself differently from natural disasters or cyberattacks. If you don't have a business continuity plan in place, these basic steps will help get you started.

“Why are markets so spooked? The economic concerns are not so much about the virus itself. They are about the prolonged impact of supply shortages paired with wavering consumer confidence and reduced spending due to response measures. With case numbers growing in Italy, supply chain fears increase. The spread of Covid-19 and attempts to contain it are now affecting European industrial hubs as well manufacturing in China, South Korea and Japan, which could cause prolonged shortages across a variety of sectors. As for the U.S., it’s a matter of when, not if. Are we prepared?” DRI President and CEO Chloe Demrovsky addresses the resilience community and its pandemic preparedness status for Forbes.

In recognizing the critical importance of effective communications within the resilience community, DRI created a committee to develop a new reference document that combines the most common business continuity and resilience terms and definitions into a single guide. Most terms were relatively straightforward in their definition, and others required more discussion and analysis by the committee. The analysis of one term, incident, became a long-term discussion, with no consensus reached. The Glossary Committee presents this white paper on defining incident to showcase the continuing effort for effective communications in our community.

Organizations today are confronted by a wide range of cyberattacks, so it comes as no surprise that cyberattacks and data breaches have consistently ranked high on the list of key issues identified for the resilience community according to the DRI International Global Risk and Resilience Trends Reports, issued annually by DRI’s Future Vision Committee. This year’s report revealed that although the top issues remain the same, there appears to be an even greater focus on technological risk. DRI chaired the Alfred P. Sloan Committee that drafted the Framework for Preparedness that has been the foundation for Title IX Implementation. DRI was proud to join the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation in the release of the “Framework for Voluntary Preparedness—Briefing Regarding Private Sector Approaches to Title IX of H.R. 1 and Public Law 110-53, Implementing 9/11 Commission Recommendations Act of 2007” and honored to be an instrumental part of the interdisciplinary team convened by the foundation to address the need for a well-informed and reasoned approach to the critical issues involving the creation of the “Voluntary Certification and Accreditation Program” set forth in Section 524 of this new legislation. Especially noteworthy was the historic collaboration of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS), all of whom worked shoulder to shoulder with DRI International to generate this important work. The Sloan Report helped guide the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in implementing a positive and realistic program for a voluntary business preparedness certification. Then DRI International Executive Director Alan Berman served as co-chairman of the interdisciplinary team that drafted the report.
