Mayor of Las Vegas Proclaims February 16, 2019 'DRI Foundation Day'
NEW YORK — Feb. 7, 2019 -- DRI International ('DRI'), the world's leading business continuity and disaster recovery training organization, is pleased to announce that Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman has issued an official proclamation that February 16, 2019 will be 'DRI Foundation Day' in recognition of DRI Foundation's annual Volunteer Day held during the DRI Annual Conference.
"The DRI Foundation is honored to receive this recognition of our efforts, and grateful to Mayor Goodman,” said AnneMarie Staley, DRI Foundation Chair. “We’re also thankful for having a dedicated staff and community of volunteers committed to expanding the reach and impact of the Foundation's mission to promote resilient communities worldwide."
The proclamation was issued to demonstrate the city's appreciation for volunteers who choose to make a difference in the community.
"I see this as a gratifying part of our overall commitment to supporting veterans," said Al Berman, DRI Foundation President. "It’s a mission that also includes our Veterans Outreach Program which provides scholarships to help veterans transition into the professions of emergency response, crisis management, business continuity and disaster recovery."
Each year, DRI International hosts an annual conference for business continuity and resilience professionals. This year, the DRI Annual Conference, DRI2019, will be taking place in Las Vegas at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. An integral part of this conference is an opportunity for professionals to give back directly to the community by playing an active role in Volunteer Day. As part of DRI2019, the DRI Foundation is mobilizing and coordinating its network of volunteers and resources to hold Volunteer Day to help local area nonprofits.
